Here is a short biographical booklet, on-line in its entirety, of the famous Pittsburgh astronomer and telescope-maker John A. Brashear. It was produced by the Brashear Association, which maintains a small John Brashear museum attached to their main building:

This booklet was given to interested visitors at both the Brashear Association and at the astronomical observatory of Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science.
