Location: North Texas History Center
Position: Marketing and Public Relations Assistant
Pay: $10
Hours: 30 hours per week. Typically 10-4 Wednesday through Saturday; the occasional evening or other weekday may be required.
Reports to: Director


Description:

The North Texas History Center seeks a marketing and public relations professional with graphic design experience who will work directly with the Executive Director to implement the North Texas History Center’s marketing plan and public relations campaign.



Requirements:
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelors degree in marketing, journalism, graphic design or other applicable fields. A significant portfolio may substitute for this degree.

Experience in marketing, public relations and/or graphic design within a non-profit preferred but not required.

The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, good project management skills, be creative and innovative, self motivated, and results driven.

Duties:

•	Provide superb customer service to everyone who walks through our door, sends email inquiries, calls, or otherwise contacts NTHC
•	Help create and implement marketing programs 
•	Create marketing materials in-house
•	Generate and distribute press releases and editorial content weekly
•	Manages the newsletter and e-news
•	Manage website updates and changes
•	Help build membership program
•	Help in museum shop
•	Light cleaning
•	Other duties as assigned

•	Problem solving skills
•	Good verbal communication skills
•	Excellent writing skills for print, radio, television, and Internet
•	Experience working with print shops and mail houses
•	Skilled with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and/or other graphic programs
•	Proficient in Microsoft Office
•	Superb customer service skills including basic cash handling
•	Ability to suggestive sell
