I totally agree with Kajal Ghoshroy that it takes "museum experience" to be
involved in
education in the museum; teaching experience alone will not cut it.

I have a BS in History, with a MA in Museology/Museum Studies, and have
taught, interpreted
at a National Park, worked with outreach educational programs and in the
public school setting.
I have served as a Executive Director, Assistant Director and Curator of
Collections in the museum
field, of which each position has been involved in the educational process.
I have also taught
community adult and college courses, and recently approved through my state
to teach education
in the K-12 grade.

I am presenting sub-teaching part-time. But I don't see how I could come
into a museum and
be an "educator" without the understanding and having the knowledge of what
takes place in a museum,
how their educational programs work, their exhibits and comprehend the basic
theory and educational
purpose of a museum. There is a slight (smiles) difference in the two
teaching methods and what takes place
in each.

Best,

John
