I wasn't following this line of discussion until a comment about not
allowing political views to influence our museum policies caught my eye
making it sound like museums were banning Boy Scout troops. I went back
into my "trash" folder and found the article that began that strain. So
once again, as in so many cases, the children suffer for the decisions of
adults. I see it as our responsibility in our various museums to accept all
children and open their eyes to the world through history, science, art,
etc. With that we hope that when they become the adults making decisions
that will affect the lives of the next generation of children they will be
thoughtful and open in their thinking.

I appreciate the diverse opinions given on the many subjects brought to this
discussion list. I agree with some, disagree with others. But it certainly
gives me a lot to think about.
