Exhibit registry The NY Food Museum is setting up a database for exhibit
history. The goals of the database are to share research and increase its
"shelf life," to help organizations research potential exhibits and to make
the efforts of exhibiting organizations known to potential funders or other
institutions. If appropriate, we may set up an exhibit brokerage service for
those who request it. Our initial criteria for inclusion in the database are
that the exhibits are on food, or have a significant food related component
and have been exhibited since 1990. (We will expand to other disciplines and
a larger time frame according to the use and success of this database.) Right
now, the database is not limited to not-for-profits, but if the exhibit is
commercial in nature, we may find that it is not appropriate for inclusion.
Until further notice, registration of your organization's (or
personal/professional) exhibits is free, and registration also entitle you to
two free database searches any time until 2002. Fees for subsequent searches
will be scaled to the size of the database and the complexity of the search.
We encourage you to register as many current or past exhibits as you think
would be appropriate. To register an exhibit, email us at [log in to unmask]
and we will send you (electronically, fax or snail mail) a simple two-page
form. You can ask us to restrict access to certain kinds of information,
notify you of "hits" on your file for a requested search, and update your
files for address changes, phone numbers and staff names. If you have any
questions, please feel free to ask; and feel free to forward this information
to any interested parties. Nancy Ralph NY Food Museum
