I share your interest in the ethics of repatiating war trophies. A few
years ago I wrote a Public History M.A. on the Australian War Trophy
collection which gave some attention to the definition of the term
"war trophy". Regrettably, I had to stop short of examining the
repatriation issue(s) although I can see this might yet become a
matter of some importance. My thesis was published in the Australian
Military Historical Society Journal, "Sabretache". Let me know if

interested to know more about your own interest in this subject, and
maybe you can forward any responses you receive.
