PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an
educational resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in
exploring and experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to
inspire young people to become innovators in developing technologies of
the future.

Join a dynamic, creative team operating one of America's premiere science
and technology museums.  Participate in The Tech Museum of Innovation's
major expansion into a new facility scheduled for opening in 1998, in the
heart of Silicon Valley.  The Tech is seeking an organized and talented
individual to serve as the Program Assistant.  The Program Assistant
reports to the Director of Education and Programs and supports the
operation of the Education Department, Public Programs, and Visitor
Experiences.  This entry-level exempt position provides exposure to all
aspects of the general development and implementation of museum exhibits,
services, and public and education programs.

Requirements:  A minimum of two years of related experience; a college
degree is preferred; proficient expertise with Macintosh computer
software including wordprocessing, Excel, FileMaker Pro, and Quark Xpress
or comparable desk top publishing software; demonstrated ability to
handle multiple tasks and projects; ability to work well with the public
of all ages and backgrounds; and interest in professional growth in the
museum field.  Relocation expenses are not budgeted for this position.
