You may be over-complicating the problem. If you have motion detectors they
tend to get tripped occationally by things that you wouldn't think of. A
draft shifting the pages of a book, or a plant or door is a very common
cause.

We have had the problem in the past of having balloons left in the museum
after events. These will set off the alarm every time.

Look for the most obvious solution first.
