Heidi, in my basic course, The History Museum, I use three "elderly but useful" videos (each about 30 minutes)

--two on accessibility, the Smithsonian's Accessibility Program's "Disabled Museum Visitors: Part of Your General Public" and the American Association of Museum's "Everyone's Welcome: Universal Access in Museums"

--and one I like for a lot of reasons, the Ohio River Museum's "Fire on the Water: Ohio River Steamboats."

In the many other courses in our undergraduate major in Historic Preservation, my colleagues use a number of other videos--if you want to ask for specific suggestions I'll forward them--or you might want to browse some of our online syllabi, <http://www.umw.edu/cas/historicpreservation/syllabi/default.php> (note that the current semester's syllabi have not yet been posted).

I am teaching an Intro to Museum Studies course this semester. It is an evening class that last three hours so in order to preserve my voice and the students' attention span, I would like to incorporate some relevant films. I am planning to show a PBS film on the Chicago World's Fair as an example of the beginnings of the democatization of museums. I also cover all the basics and include historic preservation as well. Any suggestions?
