Dear Robb:  "Comfortable" is a relative term.  I consider a comfortable
living as being able to live in a decent place without having (at my age,
and professional level of experience) to deal with roommates anymore,  to
go on vacation once or twice a year,  and to save money, and feed and
clothe oneself without pinching every penny.  I daresay that most people
would not disagree with this, nor is this unreasonable.  I agree that
museum personnel in some locales may have a hard time realizing this level
of "comfortable."  However, some museum people probably are quite
comfortable- if they make a good salary and live in a low cost of living
location.  Maybe this is not the case for most of us.......This type of
scenario sounds too good to be true perhaps.......?

This almost sounds like a SPAM header. . .

Whether you're living in NYC or Waco, Texas---I'd think you'd have to
have a pretty broad interpretation of the word to suggest that museum
people are earning a "comfortable" living anywhere . . .

. . . or perhaps I'm just trying to convince myself of that.
