Sharlot Hall Museum

LOCATION: Prescott, Arizona
TYPE:            Full Time
SALARY:      $56,805-$85,119

MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of Sharlot Hall Museum is to preserve,
research and interpret the natural history and the human history or the
Central Arizona Highlands.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership
qualities, including a clear vision and ability to communicate with the
staff, community, board of trustees and the state legislature. S/he will be
required to have strong administrative skills including budget
administration, financial affairs and personnel matters. The ability to
generate funds via fund raising activities, grants and donations, as well as
an advance degree is preferred. Experience as a museum director a plus.

Sharlot Hall Museum: Sharlot Hall Museum is a 4-acre campus in Historic
Downtown Prescott consisting of several historic buildings, galleries and
gardens. It was founded in 1928 by Sharlot M. Hall who was an historian and
poet. Sharlot Hall Museum is the largest museum between Phoenix and
Flagstaff with an annual budget of $1.4M, full and part-time staff of 27 and
a 15-member board. The board governs the Prescott Historical Society (State
funded) and Sharlot Hall Historical Society (non-profit). The Museum
Archives contains thousands of maps and primary documents related to the
area. Native baskets, historic costumes and furniture are prominent.
