Learning Co-ordinator

Wanted!

Museums Alberta has an exciting opportunity for an individual interested
in playing a vital role in Alberta's museum community.

Reporting to the Museums Advisor, the Learning Co-ordinator is charged
with the design and implementation of training programs for Museums
Alberta, including:
- formulation of goals and objectives
- curriculum development
- instructor orientation
- needs assessment
- delivery of courses
- marketing and evaluation

It is Museums Alberta's intention to provide a range of learning
opportunities, from basic to advanced levels, to suit the needs of
member museums.  The successful applicant will also be involved in
helping member institutions complete applications for institutional
training grants, as well as assisting them in determining their training
needs.  The position is responsible for facilitating a number of
learning-related partnerships and the annual Museums Alberta Conference
program.

The successful applicant will have a university degree in a relevant
discipline, combined with demonstrated experience and knowledge in the
following areas:
- museum operating procedures
- adult education training and experience
- human resources
- planning
- grantsmanship

Good organizational skills, excellent interpersonal communication and
writing skills, computer skills and a willingness to travel and work
weekends are also required.  A valid driver's license is necessary.
Counselling and/or customer service experience is highly recommended.

The position is offered on a one-year, renewable contract basis, with a
full benefit package.  Salary is commensurate with training and
experience.  The start date is immediate.
