As an ARGUS user, the program can drive me crazy as well.  It is, however, not as limited as Mr. Segal describes.  Within ARGUS, you can search by object and by accession.  You can thus look up an item by donor or by maker. If anyone is intersted in more information about ARGUS, please contact me off-list at [log in to unmask]
