I use Burcaws book and Alexander's Museums in Motion for my introduction to Museum Studies class and supplement them with current publication in various areas. These range from Excellence and Equity, the recent report on Museum Trust, new materials in evaluation and education,
books and essays by Stephen Weil and LOTS of museum periodicals from Curator, to Museum News, to MER. This allows us to discuss how museums are continually changing. I also have them sign-on to Museum-L as lurkers to keep up with current issues.
