We are trying to determine the whereabouts of an unusual item, the
"feudin' fiddle" used in the Hatfield-McCoy feuds. It is a playable
violin with a built-in .44 calibre gun which fits into the violin's neck.
The muzzle is set flush with the end of the scroll.

We know that it was owned by the Hatfield family for some 75 years until
it was sold to a private collector, a Dr. William A. Irwin, ca. 1954.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of this violin/gun or the previous owner,
please contact us by email at [log in to unmask]

Thank you very much!
