History in New York City is seeking a Supervisor of Volunteers in a new

responsibility to plan and implement a Volunteer Earth and Space Explainer
Program for the January 2000 opening of the Rose Center for Earth and
Science which includes the newly rebuilt Hayden Planetarium.

The Supervisor will recruit, interview, train, test, schedule and evaluate

of the Center to the public. The job will involve ongoing training, plus
additional office responsibilities. Regular weekend work is required.

We require a Masters degree and a general science background with strong

subjects are presented to the public. The candidate must have the ability
to teach astronomy and earth science to adults and must be able to write
training materials. The ideal person will have proven organizational
skills and the ability to manage people of all ages. It is highly
desirable that the candidate has museum and volunteer management experience.

Anyone who meets the above criteria and is interested in applying should
