Thank you, James Hascall!
Your post was very informative, and I wish I had known about the differences
in bulbs before we started our project. Our cases were designed with fiber
optics in mind, so that wasn't the problem. I think our problem was in not
learning enough about fiber optics ahead of time. In hindsight we realized
that we were not educated enough to ask the right questions of our
contractor. We really do like our system, even with its few bugs. It does
provide beautiful light, and the objects in that gallery look better than
they ever have.
