Thanks for clarifying, Jane.  I didn't realize there was an SI USNM
   with no "what" at the end.  Now, where is it?

The USNM has for a number of years been operating as the Smithsonian Insti-
tution.  A history of its beginnings was written by George Brown Goode in 1901
and appears in Smithsonian Institution, US National Museum, Annual Report,
83-191.  I hesitated to respond to Wills's request until I had the SI address
at hand, but Schansberg's query evoked a response.  Perhaps someone else
has the address handy.  Email is useful at SI only if you know who you want to
talk with.
