As has been mentioned several times, Walter Henry's moderated site is the
best and contains links to most major preservation/conservation sites. It
is called CoOL (Conservation On-Line). To get on the list, subscribe via

list can be accessed (as well as the site's archives) at:
http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/.

Finally, there is quite a bit written about bone preservation, including an
excellent article by Stephen Koob in the IIC Paris Conference, Adhesives and
Consolidants. Also, the Society for the Preservation of Natural History
Specimens (SPNHS) has a link on CoOl and has published excellent information
on long-term care and storage of bone material. I strongly recommend that
you contact the American Institute for Conservation (also linked through
CoOL) and locate your nearest specialist (conservation) library. Much of
what you need is not on-line and requires research at a regional
conservation laboratory library.
