In the Municipal Art Centre in Nicosia , the last divided city in the
world, an exhibition who is presenting an unique art collection about
the Fall of the Berlin Wall is taking place from September the 17th
until October 25 th, 1998. The artworks, presented in the European
context, have been realised by international artists in 1990 on virgin
fragments of the Berlin Wall coming from the East side.

This exhibition takes place in Cyprus under the High Patronage of Mr.
Jacques Chirac, President of the French Republic, of Mr. Glafcos
Clerides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Daniel Tarschys,
Secretary General of the European Council.

The exhibition of Nicosia will ended next October the 25th and other
presentations are being studied, Strasbourg for the fiftieth anniversary
of the creation of European Council and for the tenth anniversary of the
wall's fall

In the perspective of these two european events we have obtained ten
more virgin fragments of the wall. We will profiting of the
international tour of the exhibition to open this symbolic collection to
artists of new nationality not yet  represented. In Cyprus a concurs has
been organised by the Minister of  Education and Culture to an hundred
Cypriot artists, Théodulos Gregoriou has been chosen  to integrate the
collection.

Each exhibition will have is own place on internet web site in French,
German, English and sonly in Greek.

This web site will show all the artistic witnesses facing  the
historical part from Yalta up to today, illustrated by  texts and photos
and videos interviews of some celebrities who visited the exhibition (
artists and politics).
