** I apologize if you have already received this. I have had problems
with my email lately. **

At the Smithsonian Institution's Office of Elementary & Secondary
Education, we are in the process of developing a course on electronic
networking for classroom teachers. Based on previous postings, many
of you have had experience in teaching museum professionals how to
improve and maximize their use of the Internet. We are trying to
discover if any other museums have had experience in teaching such
courses in the past to teachers or other educators.

If you have, we would appreciate getting your response to the
following questions:

- What type of courses have you offered?
- What did you find successful? If you could, what would you do
        differently?
- What would you like to see in your future classes?
- During what time of year did you offer these sessions? Were they
        one-day, two-day, or week-long seminars?
- How many teachers/educators attended them?
- How was your museum's mission incorporated into the course?
- Were the teachers required to meet any prerequisites to take the
        course (e.g., computer skills)?
- Were the courses targeting teachers from a specific grade level?
        (elementary, middle, or high school)
- What type of follow-up did you do to see if the course was
        successful?
- How much did you charge the teachers to attend?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
