                The Shedd Aquarium is investigating the possibility of
an electronic animal ID system. That is, a system that uses computer
technology to deliver information traditionally presented in
identification signs.

                 As a first step in that investigation, we would like to
know if any institution:
*       Has considered using an electronic ID system and have any
thoughts they would be willing to share?
*       Are using an electronic ID system and have thoughts they would
like to share?
*       Have evaluated the effectiveness of an electronic ID system and
would like to share the results of that evaluation?
