I generally like the idea of having the museum-l as a news group.
Not having my mail box full would be nice, and being able to follow a
thread is great.
 
The down side will be how your local system spools the news and how
long they keep the old posts in their system. If you are on a system like mine,a
Freenet that does not allow you to FTp to an archives site, you might miss
some posts and not be able to get copies.
