Marketing Manager

The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is seeking a team player to lead the marketing
department of the only AAM accredited maritime museum on the Great Lakes.
Current initiatives include a major expansion with exhibits and programs
scheduled for completion in early 2003, an ambitious capital campaign, and
ongoing restoration of the National Historic Landmark World War II submarine
USS COBIA.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing, advertising, public
relations, events planning, and the gift shop.  Duties include recruiting,
training, scheduling, and supervising of departmental full-time and
part-time staff.  Experience working with the media and in promoting our
institutional mission to both regional and national audiences in a fast
paced environment is a plus.

Minimum qualifications include:  a bachelors degree (masters preferred) in
relevant field; 3 years experience in marketing; effective oral and written
communication skills; ability to manage people through motivation and direct
supervision; ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff,
volunteers, and the public; computer proficiency and experience with graphic
design software; experience with web site design and implementation; and an
enthusiastic and energetic approach to marketing and public relations.
Experience in marketing tourist attractions is highly desirable.  This is a
full time salaried position requiring occasional weekend hours and offering
excellent benefits.
