Thank you, Christine, for also sharing my "curiosity." I sent an email
yesterday afternoon, expressing my curiosity as to why they would want a
Social Security number with a résumé. I understand why it would be
needed if a person was selected; however, not why it would be needed
merely to apply.

I know this is now moving into areas "non-musuem" related. However, if
anyone might know the answer or have ideas, I would love to hear from
them off-list. I have been growing concerned about the carefree way in
which many people toss these numbers.
