Hello All,

Since we've received no responses to this offer, I've been asked to post
this note one more time. If anyone is interested please give the Museum
Director a call at the number below.

The UIHC Medical Museum has recently been contacted by a potential donor
located in Midwest City, Oklahoma who has in his possession a 1970s era
Travenol Kidney Dialysis Machine (model RSP-120) which he would like to
donate to a museum. Due to extreme space constraints, we cannot accept the
donation but have offered to help them find a home for the machine.

The owner used the machine himself from 1971-1976, at which time he had a
kidney transplant from his sister. He is now a military engineer working
on B-52 bombers. This machine has a story (something us museum people
always like) and the owner very much wants to share that story with a
willing museum. His experience with dialysis and transplant surgery has
left a lasting emotional mark on him and he would like to use the machine
to offer encouragement to potential transplant recipients and show them
that this illness can be beaten.

If you are interested in this artifact, or know someone who might be,
please contact our Director, Ms. Adrienne Drapkin at
[log in to unmask] or (319) 356-7106. Please contact her rather
than me as she has spoken directly with the donor.

Thanks for your time,

Cris Wolf Harper
