I have not had experience in a museum setting, but I am a grad student
working on a project specifically dealing with how RFID can be implemented
in interactive systems. We created a report which describes the fundamentals
of this technology, its history, the current application areas and
suppliers, as well as thoughts about the future. Within three weeks I will
also have a paper specifically about the extensions of this technology for
museums, with a report on a system for visitor custom wayfinding that uses
RFID.

I can't attach the report here, and I haven't had any luck posting to the
docs list, so I guess if you'd like a copy of the general report or the
museum report, email me off-line and I'll send it to you.
