I remember seeing what must have been a pilot for an American
television program featuring William Shatner (!) -- pre-Star Trek, of
course -- as the conquering Macedonian.  I'm pretty sure Mary Renault
would not have approved.  As far as I know, only one episode of the
program was ever broadcast but it was a long time ago.  I have no idea
who made it or how one would find it.
