There is a lovely little book called "A Guide to Model Making and
Taxidermy" by Leo Cappel, published by A.H.&A.W.Reed in 1973 which
covers much of the practical side of making dioramas. Although it is
addressed mostly to hobbyists, the author was a preparator in a museum
and the information contained is first class.
