NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERISITY
ACADEMIC PROFESSIONAL POSITION

The Cline Library at Northern Arizona University invites applications for:
Manuscripts and Digital Content Curator. Under the direction of the Head of the
Special Collections and Archives Department, this position supervises and
performs tasks related to  acquisition by donation and purchase, preservation,
curriculum integration, and 24/7 access to Colorado Plateau manuscripts, maps,
oral histories, and University archives.

The Cline Library Colorado Plateau Digital Archives’ (www.nau.edu/speccoll)
positions provide leadership in direct support of the Library’s strategic
initiative to enhance 24/7 access to original and unique collections. This
position recommends innovative approaches to improving processes and services
which support the discovery, retrieval, use, and evaluation of archival content
by distributed learners and scholars in a progressively rich Web-based
environment; serves as a liaison to the Library’s Resource Specialist Teams to
develop on-line course resources drawn from archival holdings.  May also serve
as a Resource Specialist team member; employs strong analytical skills and
solution-oriented planning to achieve optimal outcomes for users; rethinks
traditional archival practices—developing new workflows and descriptive
practices, investigating technology and opportunities for automating tasks, and
sharing assignments—in support of a high-production, content-rich digital
environment.
