     +ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, SES, Level 1, Upper Band. Total remuneration
     package will be negotiated within the range of $106,465 to $114,940
     p.a. Responsible for the formulation and achievement of strategic
     directions in the Museum's scientific activities including research,
     collection management, conservation and information
     sciences/technology.  Achieve high level of contribution of science to
     commercial operations and integration with Public Programs and
     marketing activities. Participate as a member of the Museum's
     Management Team and assist the Director in achieving appropriate
     strategic directions for the Museum as a whole. Qualifications:
     Thorough understanding of the role and functions of modern museums in
     society and their unique contribution to the increase of knowledge and
     public understanding.  Achievement in scientific research of a high
     standard and appropriate tertiary qualifications.  Commitment to the
     communication of science to the widest possible audience.  Thorough
     knowledge of issues, trends and debates relating to science.
     Demonstrated capability in leadership, management, interpersonal
     skills, conflict resolution and communication. Effective decision
     making, strategic thinking and planning skills.  Proven experience in
     policy formulation and financial management.  Demonstrated capacity to
     implement EEO, OH&S and Cultural Diversity policies and programs.
