PA Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations, Harrisburg

The Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations, a not-for-profit, statewide membership associations seeks a full-time executive director.  The ideal candidate will have the expertise to sustain the Federation's core membership programs as well as fulfill its vision to help its members articulate their value to their communities and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and realize their full potential as economic and educational resources.

The executive director is responsible for the overall operation of this organization including oversight of budget, personnel, membership development, and core membership programs.  The executive director also represents the Federation to state and federal government agencies and develops partnerships with affiliated organizations.

Hands-on association management and fundraising skills are essential qualifications.  Familiarity with issues facing museums in the 21st century is equally important.  Ability to motivate and inspire staff teamwork as well as relate to the needs and concerns of members is critical.  Qualified candidates will have experience and training appropriate to the tasks above and a minimum of a college degree, above average communication skills and several years experience in related areas.

The Federation office is located in Harrisburg.  Occasional overnight travel is required.  Salary range mid-30s - 40s plus benefits.
