Dear all,

Please excuse any cross-posting.

UMAC - the International Committee of ICOM for University Museums and
Collections - has developed a database of university museums and collections
worldwide.

The database is mostly an institutional database, to gather and facilitate
access to information regarding museums and collections in universities
worldwide. The database encompasses small and large museums, botanical
gardens, arboreta, memorials, house museums, etc., as well as teaching and
research collections from universities all over the world.
Data can be searched by Country, City, University, Type of Museum/Collection
and Discipline.

Please have a look at UMAC's website:
http://icom.museum/umac (left-side menu, click on Search).

Also, this Database is an ongoing process and at the moment most of the
collections and museums are from European and Australian universities.
UMAC encourages contributions from other countries, please feel free to add
your own museum/collection.
It won't take much of your time as the data are merely descriptive (Name of
Museum/Collection, University, Address & Web Address, Contact, etc.)
All contributions are most appreciated.
Instructions can be found on the website.

Please feel free to email me off-list if you have comments, corrections, or
questions.
Sincerely,
Marta C. Lourenco
