Previously a colleague wrote and asked about a good database system for
small collections.  I, too, need all the help that I can get.

I am the curator and collections manager of a small collection (less than
2000 objects), mostly 2-dimensional.  Our current systems are Mac based; I
have an 8500 PowerMac.  I would like my database to have flexible formats
and fields and, if it is not asking too much, I would like to have it
compatible with the Web and web search engines.

Any suggestions?  Feel free to reply to my private email or to the general
list, your choice.
