Hello everyone, long time lurker and first time participant from Ireland
here.

I am researching development/fundraising in the museum sector. The
institution that I'm working for is mostly government funded - as are most
cultural institutions in Ireland - and we are currently exploring other
avenues of raising much need funds.

The American model of Friends, Corporate Sponsors, Patrons hiring out space
for events etc. has not really been used to its full potential in Ireland.
We have started to tread very carefully down these avenues. However, I
would very much like to get in contact with the people behind the scenes -
to see what exactly is required hands on by the staff. I was wondering if
anyone out there could reccomend some museums with particularly notable
development departments that I might approach for advice in setting up a
department, implementing a programme etc.

Please feel free to contact me through the list or privately on my email

Thank you in advance.
