One book that comes to mind is Antonio Fraser's book, The History
of Toys. This is an excellent and well-known book.
Also, the Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe has one of the most
fantastic collections of toy theaters I have ever seen with over
100 on display. I would contact them for more
information. The Museum of International Folk Art (505)
    827-6350.

Your project sounds great. Good luck.
