  Museums Advisor

  The Alberta Museums Association has an exciting
  opportunity for an individual interested in playing
  a vital role in Alberta's museum community.
  Reporting to the Executive Director, the Museums
  Advisor will be a team member of the Association's
  Advisory Services Unit, which aids Alberta's museum
  community by providing support on:
     - governance
     - administration
     - museum set-up
     - the range of museum functional areas
     - special projects
     - other museum-related issues.

  The successful candidate will be a trained museum
  generalist, have a university degree in a relevant
  discipline or equivalent post-secondary training,
  combined with demonstrated experience and knowledge
  of general museum practice.  Good organizational
  skills, excellent interpersonal communication
  skills, computer skills and a willingness to travel
  and work weekends are also required. A valid
  driver's licence is necessary.

  The position is offered on a one-year, renewable
  contract basis, with a full benefit package. Salary
  is commensurate with training and experience. The
  start date is July 15, 1996.
