This may not be a substantial lead, but a New York artist, Josh Spodek
(spodek.net), creates large scale linear zoetrope. He's worked with the
medium and may know of sources or fabricators.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Looking for a commercially-produced zoetrope

Dear Museum-L members,

We're looking for a sturdy zoetrope for use in our discovery center and
exhibit interactives, preferably one that permits us to swap image strips in
and out. So far the only one I've found that's readily available comes in
an optical illusion science kit from Mini Labs, and it doesn't look as
though it would suit our needs (i.e., it would probably break within two
months). Does anyone have a source they can recommend?
