...even worse, our urban public library in Boston like
many urban public libraries has not listened nor
responded in kind to its constituencies' concerns,
comments, suggestions or questions.

Keeping participation in long range library planning
at arms reach from the most interested
library users/customers/consumers and library personnel,
counters effective efficient collection development
and library services.

The irony of it is that the sadder staff tend to be the
ones more inflexible regarding long range library
planning.

Change the institutional culture of our urban public
libraries!

Open our urban public libraries to greater public
participation in library long range planning.
