Actually, there is no limit on the length of a mission statement. A
mission statement is the organization's reason d'etre' and doesn't change
significantly or often Therefore, it is not a advertising plot such as a
tagline or motto. A motto, actually, is a tagline that emphasizes action.
For example, a mission statement may contain the founding wisdom, such "XYZ
Museum seeks to promote and preserve the native styles of rural XYZ area
for the benefit of current and future generations. XYZ Museum believes
that without a connection to our past, the generations of today and the
future are doomed to repeat the bad fashion choices of our forefathers. It
is XYZ Museums' mission to show the positive and negative aspects of
fashion trends to prevent further misunderstanding, therefore facilitating
a more beautiful community for all". A tagline would read something like:
"XYZ Museum: Where fashion is labeled!" and a motto would say something to
the effect of "XYZ Museum: We'll make you look good!".

Hope this helps. :)

<Subject: Tag Line, Motto, or Mission Statement?

<I have a semantics question about these "tag lines".
<Aren't they really closer to Mission Statements if not
<Mottos? Mission Statements are not supposed to be
<three pages long; they're really supposed to be more
<like the buzzwords that have been communicated heretofore.
