To turn mail off temporarily, send an e-mail to

        [log in to unmask]

with nothing in the subject line and just

        SET MUSEUM-L NOMAIL

in the body of the message. Note that the address is _not_ the same as for
posting to the list.

To turn mail on again, do the same but with the last word of the message
changed to MAIL.

If your mailer normally adds a signature, it's best to turn it off - it can
generate an error message.
