Hi -- I just got back from vacation so sorry for the delay in response.

Two very large flags have recently been treated --- the Ft. Sumter
Garrison flag by Harpers Ferry Regional Conservation Center, W. VA,
and the Old Ft. Niagra flag by the Peebles Island Center in New York
State using some very interesting display techniques.

We are developing conservation treatments and preservation strategies
for the Star-Spangled Banner in its new permanent display and I would
be happy to discuss your flag with you and share our information on
storage and display.

Suzanne Thomassen-Krauss, Head Conservator,
the Star-Spangled Banner Preservation Project,
National Museum of American History,
Smithsonian Institution
