Hi,

I was hoping someone could offer some advice regarding insuring artwork
during shipment.

We are having two small tubes of artwork shipped from Belfast, and I had
made arrangements using Federal Express as the carrier, since it seemed
the most convenient for the artist (who is sending the work) and because
the fedex representative I spoke to on the phone said that they would
insure the shipment for its entire estimated value.

I have since learned that I received some misinformation, and that fedex,
while insuring the total value on commercial art, will only insure up to
$500 for fine art. I am now attempting to find additional insurance, or
a different air shipper ASAP. My main concern is that the arrangements
should be made here, not in Belfast, and that it be as convenient as
possible for the Irish artist.

Thanks in advance!
