George Washington University's Center for Professional Development in Washington DC Announces:

Power and Influence Strategies for Records Management Professionals (CWRM 182)

This two-day course exposes leaders and managers to the skills in the effective use of power and influence to bring about change and organizational effectiveness. The issue of leadership ethics is explored as part of the effectiveness model. As competition externally and cooperation internally become the focal points of organizations pursuing quality, we see the use and misuse of power and ethical behavior being questioned on every corner. There is seldom a day that goes by where we don't see in the media the results of power abuse. This course exposes managers to the intricacies of power and influence, and increases understanding about power and the use and misuse of it. Learn about where it comes from, how to use it, how to assess and access individual and organizational power and the "ins and outs" of strategic power struggles.
