Angela,
While not an AAM document, but offered, I believe, through the AAM
bookstore, you might consult, A Legal Primer for Managing Museum Collections
by Marie C. Malaro, Smithsonian Institution Press, to guide you on this
subject. See in particular Chapters I, What is a Museum? What is Required of
Its Board Members?, and VI, Loans, Incoming and Outgoing.

Best regards,

Subject: Trustee guidelines

Is anyone familiar with any documents put out by AAM about guidelines for
trustees? I'm looking for one that a colleague of mine *vaguely* remembers
as having such information as why trustees should not borrow items from
their museum's collection for personal use, etc. Many thanks in advance!
