LOWE ART MUSEUM, UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE DESIGN

CORAL GABLES, FL- The Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami has a new
look after redesigning its website to provide easier access to the
University community and visitors. The new website, designed by Guru
Communications, Inc. of Florida (http://www.gurucom.com) includes
expanded Exhibitions, Calendar of Events, and Teacher and Student
Resources sections that will provide up-to-the- minute information about
programs. Other new features include on-line Membership and Museum Store
sections, where visitors can join or renew memberships and order popular
Museum Store items from their computers.

The new website design, which replaces the one that had been in place
for two years, was the result of an increasing need to provide access to
its collections and exhibitions. "The internet is the perfect medium to
greatly enhance access to our collections," says Brian Dursum, Lowe Art
Museum Director, "and provides a vital resource for people who are
interested in art, from students, scholars, travelers and the
museum-going public around the world."

The new design was introduced on February 27, 1998, and is expected to
receive thousands of hits from people around the world. The site's
address is http://www.lowemuseum.org. The Lowe website can also be
accessed through the University of Miami site http://www.miami.edu.

The Lowe Art Museum received funding for this project from the Institute
of Museum and Library Services (www.imls.gov) and Guru Communications,
Inc. (www.gurucom.com).
