Lynn Norris: I suggest you purchase a copy of the volume "Conservation
Environment Guidelines for Libraries and Archives" by William P. Lull with
Paul N. Banks, 1995, available from the Canadian Council of Archives, 344
Wellington Street, Room 1009, Ottawa, ON Canada K1A 0N3, prepaid at $17.50
US. This will give you all the basics on HVAC systems and environmental
control (why, how, info for design, low-cost options, different systems,
etc.). Also you might contact Landmark Facilities in E. Norwalk CT at #203
866 4626. They are a consulting firm with experience and expertise
assessing and designing climate control for cultural collections. Good
luck - I hope this helps. Karen
