I would be glad to share my knowledge and experience with founding the
consortium of historic house museums in Washington, DC  I was active in
the group for 6 years.  By and large it was an exceptionally positive
experience which did so much to acquaint professionals in the
metropolitan area as well as  provide a forum for local issues, to share
