The Louisiana Association of Museums presents

"Exhibition Planning and Management: Transforming Concept into Reality"

Monday, June 16, 2003
9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Lafayette Natural History Museum and Planetarium
434 Jefferson Street, Lafayette, LA 70501

You work in a small to mid-sized museum that is under-staffed and under-
funded, and you are expected to organize and present professional
exhibitions year-round that will have a significant educational, cultural
and economic impact upon your community. Where do you begin?

This panel of museum professionals will share case studies of actual
exhibitions that were organized by taking advantage of resources which were
often available in their communities, regions or state. They will discuss
strategies for transforming your ideas into professional exhibitions, and
they will identify sources for low-budget, national traveling exhibitions.

The panel will be chaired by Herman Mhire, Director, University Art Museum,
University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Presenters include:
Mary Henderson, Director, Lafayette Natural History Museum and Planetarium
Renee Miller, Executive Director, Children's Museum of Acadiana
Patricia Kahle, Director of Interpretation and Collections, Shadows-on-the-
Teche
Mark Tullos, Deputy Director, University Art Museum, University of
Louisiana at Lafayette

Registration Fees: $30.00, LAM members $40.00, non-members
