I hope others will respond on list -- this is a good subject I'd be
interested in hearing additional opinions.
I have paid $1/word. But, the budget doesn't always allow and it can end up
around $.50 - $.75. And, it's not always designated as a per-word fee, but
an honorarium instead (sounds more non-profit!) -- however I know how many
words I want and try to set the honorarium in that $.50 - $1/word range.
